First Grade Snacks
First grade teachers emphasize the importance of eating healthy foods,
especially ones that are free of excessive sugar and salt. We understand that a child’s behavior can be directly related to their diet, which is why the first grade team thought it would be a great idea to have healthy foods for our daily snacks. Our Snack criteria are: 1. Healthy 2. Not messy, easy to eat while working 3. Doesn’t require a utensil, finger foods are best 4. Snacks need to be labeled with your child's name! |
Suggested snacks include, but aren’t limited to:
apples (sliced/whole) banana
grapes granola bar
strawberries dry Cheerios (or other cereal with minimal sugar)
orange slices cubed cheese
raisins string cheese
dried fruit vegetable sticks
crackers trail mix

**We encourage your children to drink plenty of water throughout the day and give them opportunities to do so. Students may bring water bottles to class as long as they are labeled with their names and have a top so they don’t spill.
